Where is the protest?
More than three-quarters of polled Americans want a public option for health care. Yet too many legislators, particularly in the Senate, reject this as part of a health care reform package.
In 2000 and 2004, Americans stood silent when election results were dubious at best. Where are public displays demanding Congress enact the public’s desire for a public health care option? Where were the civic displays demanding electoral accountability in 2000 and 2004 – not to mention the present right-wing-sponsored electoral nonsense playing out in Minnesota?
Apparently, dissent in America consists of stuff like misinformed and misdirected tea-bagging and against comedians.
Currently, thousands upon thousands of Iranians are putting lives and security in danger by publicly protesting recent doubtful election results there. I ask: In which of the two nations is the demand for democracy more prominently displayed?
Furthermore, if you would care to exercise some intellectual honesty, research the characteristics of fascism and the history of the rise of the Third Reich and put it in context of above.
