Yes to kids, no to complex

The Spokesman-Review

No, I’m not against kids. No, I’m not against the Little League. I am, however, against putting the proposed Little League complex in the Glenrose area. It is a totally inappropriate spot, whose infrastructure cannot support such an aggressive project.

The roads are dangerous enough with increased traffic from additional home building, and even are posted with “seasonal road restrictions.” We have had many serious accidents at 37th and Glenrose, including one fatality. The increased congestion from even more cars attending these sport fields would be a nightmare.

This area is in a natural basin which amplifies sound. The peace and quiet of our neighborhood would be utterly eliminated by the night lighting, PA systems and noise six days, and nights, a week. Everyone in our neighborhood and the areas of Glengrae, Inverness, Trickle Creek and Browne Mountain would be severely impacted. I haven’t even begun to address the wildlife and environmental issues.

This is not the correct location for such a complex.
