Keep up school pride
My two sons are students at Holmes Elementary school. Each day my husband and I send our boys to a clean, structurally sound building where they feel good about spending the day. They are eager to learn because they are nurtured by caring educators who teach with enthusiasm. They are provided with excellent resources and creative activities which inspire their learning.
I am grateful for something our city is doing well: Spokane supports its public schools. Our children, regardless of their economic status, race or gender, have access to a solid education in safe, clean and positive environments.
Spokane Public Schools has a revolving action plan for maintaining its many school buildings; the plan works because the school bond has been supported. The school levy provides money for student learning, helping to keep art, music and fitness in our schools. In Spokane, regardless of where they live, children have available to them a quality education in a quality environment.
I want to continue to live in a city where there is equity in education for all children. Please join me in voting “yes” by March 10 for the renewal of the school bond and levy.
