Complex best for South Hill

The Spokesman-Review

I attended the informational presentation of the Spokane South Little League’s new sports park that is proposed at 37th and Glenrose on the South Hill. The park will do exactly what the league intends: provide the kids of the South Hill a park that they can be proud of and that they can use to develop themselves into first-class talent and first-class people. Great communities provide facilities like this for their kids.

The members of the Glenrose Association left no question at the meeting that they are opposed to the park location. Unfortunately they are too short-sighted on the matter. The park isn’t just about them; it is about the entire South Hill and the benefits that it will provide to kids of the greater community.

Development of the land at 37th and Glenrose is inevitable, despite opposition from the association. The park will complement future development and make the area even more desirable than it is now. Let’s be a great community, take this tax-free investment in our kids and show that we are a first-class community by supporting the project. In the long run we all benefit, including the association.
