Bureaucratic brilliance fishy

The Spokesman-Review

I am really impressed with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife proposal to close the Colville and other fish hatcheries.

These operations support recreational activities for hundreds of thousands of Washington residents, which in turn supports numerous businesses, which provide jobs and contribute millions of dollars in tax revenues to the state. Closing hatcheries means fewer recreational opportunities, fewer jobs and the loss of tax revenues far in excess of the money saved. Why is it that only government can come up with such a lose-lose-lose idea and think it is smart?
