Stimulus sprawl

A new list courtesy of the Infrastructurist has us apprehensive on the almost $30 billion in highway funds for states and an emphasis on shovel ready. Meaning, be quick to build, which creates an unhealthy precedent on highway construction when rushed.  Titled, “The Seven Most Ridiculous New Roads being Built With Stimulus Money,” you’ll find a 142-mile-long highway that will destroy more than a 1,000 acres of forest in Indiana, and a fourth out loop around Houston. Basically, these roads and bridges to nowhere make little sense and show this feature of the stimulus bill will only create more sprawl.
