City must be realistic

The Spokesman-Review

Well, well, the bond didn’t pass for the police; so what do we do now, put it on the ballot again? How about figuring out a more economic way to accomplish what needs to be done?

Maybe the city should examine existing and empty buildings in Spokane that are large enough for their storage needs but cost less. Then, explain to the citizens of Spokane how it could work and what it could cost as a more realistic and reasonable way of accomplishing long-term goals. Perhaps consolidate operations with the county? That’s what a business would do. Why can’t the city learn how to run the city’s business similar to the way a business would?

In a time where $100 bills don’t grow on trees in a distressed economic recession, it would seem to me this would provide more value for Spokane.
