Media caused own decline

The Spokesman-Review

You have recently editorialized about the declining state of newspapers in the US of A and how awful it would be without them (“Wilting watchdogs,” March 12). Over our history we have depended on this, the fourth branch of government, to be critical of the other three in an objective way. Consider the great work that Woodward and Bernstein did on Nixon.

You, the press, died last year when you became the house organ of the liberal faction of America. You ensured the election of what is turning out to be a fascist government led by an incompetent lawyer bent on stripping us of our constitutional rights and our money.

Congratulations. Now you will reap what you have sown. Your only chance is for some remaining honest reporters to take apart the apparatus you have built and give our country back to the people.
