This day in history belongs to the Margarets — Margaret Mitchell won the Pulitzer Prise in 1939 for her bestseller “Gone With The Wind” and Margaret Thatcher became the first female prime minister of England in 1979.  Also,  at age 54, Willie Shoemaker became the oldest jockety to win the Kentucky Derby in 1986, aboard Ferdinand.
