The City is conducting a public meeting May 7th from 5-7:00 P.M. in the City Hall Council Chambers to encourage public input regarding proposed projects to be submitted for these funds. Comments can be:
- emailed to Mary May at mmay@spokanevalley.org,

Write now and write often, it’s important to let your officials know you want immediate action in regards to smarter more sustainable growth, more efficient public transportation, and energy and water conservation. We heard from Mary May late last week, and she said, “one of the parameters of the program is that the funds need to be used within 36 months,” hopefully meaning we won’t see date of 2030 and 2050 but 2010! Rally for the Climate, Green Jobs and Clean Air in Seattle.
On May 21st
at noon (location yet to be announced), downtown Seattle will host a
rally to support the Obama administration’s bold new stance on global
warming. From
1Sky Washington,
“President Obama and the Environmental
Protection Agency need to hear from you. The EPA has concluded there is
overwhelming evidence that greenhouse gases from fossil fuel combustion
and vehicles endanger our health and welfare. Now that it has
recognized the threat, the EPA must develop rules under the Clean Air
Act to safeguard the environment and develop a new green economy. But
the coal and oil lobbies will fight the Administration every step of
the way. President Obama and the EPA need you to stand up and help them
