People want Valley back
One must surmise that there is a deficiency of testosterone circulating among the Spokane Valley City Council members. At least not enough for them to oppose the actions of the city manager and the developers and builders in Spokane County.
This reluctance to speak up has led to what can only be described as the deterioration of a city that had at least moderate promise.
I understand the thinking for “a city of our own” while the movers and shakers fought to defeat them. Four times the proponents tried and four times they failed. Then the movers and shakers saw that big money could be made if the area was, in fact, a city. Then they all breathed a collective “hmmm” and backed a new effort with money and a relentless campaign. Because of this and because of ennui among voters, this new effort succeeded. A city was born.
Now, because the area has become a moneymaker for the movers and shakers and a money-loser for the residents, those bored voters have awakened and are determined to reverse course.
