Criticism helps terrorists
This specious debate is a victory for the terrorists. The government has revealed the precise nature and limits of interrogation and has told the CIA they will be held personally responsible for their actions even when approved by the highest authorities. To restrict our interrogation methods when unable to know the possible circumstances shows poor judgment and bad policy.
The unauthorized, unsupervised and uncivilized behavior by some guards at Abu Ghraib was shameful. Unfortunately, these kinds of incidents occur during war.
Evil is real and personified by terrorists who fly planes into buildings, cut off heads and send children into public areas with explosives. If they have a knife they will stab you; a gun, they’ll shoot you; and nuclear weapons, they will destroy your city.
Khalid Sheikh Mohammed organized the 9/11 attacks, among others, and beheaded Daniel Pearl. He was waterboarded and revealed plans of future attacks. This interrogation outrage includes the rights of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. He should have been hanged.
Rather than publishing Abu Ghraib photos (reckless political vengeance) we should publish the blocked photos of 9/11 of people jumping from the Trade Center buildings with their clothes on fire and the beheading of Daniel Pearl.
