• The Washington State track and field and the baseball teams were in the state south of here yesterday, one competing in the Pac-10 championships (which is different than competing for a Pac-10 championship, a goal made impossible after Saturday, though the men did finish fourth), the other competing for the postseason.

A few individuals turned on the jets and earned Pac-10 track titles (third item), including football player Jeshua Anderson. Here’s the Gazette-Times story and a piece in the Statesman-Journal. The Cougars, all alone in second, were eliminated from the championship race, however, when Arizona State swept Oregon, clinching another conference title. … Finally, football coach Paul Wulff played some golf in the Tri-Cities last week and talked about his team beforehand.
