There’s always time for ‘Salvation’
I seem to be a week or more behind in my moviegoing. While “Up” and the comically named “Drag Me to Hell” are today’s big premieres, I still haven’t seen “Terminator Salvation” or “Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian.”
So I’m going to try catching up. Today I’m going to take my brother, a sci-fi fanatic, to see the latest in the “Terminator” series. And if I can avoid all the curtain climbers, I’ll try to find time for “Night at the Museum II.”
I’ve already seen one of the other two films that are opening. “Beauty in Trouble” is an offbeat little Czech film that doesn’t led itself to easy reactions. That, of course, makes it an intriguing view. We’ll discuss “Beauty in Trouble,” as well as the Russian film “12” and Ron Howard’s “Angels & Demons,” on “Movies 101” tonight (and Saturday).
That means that our next week’s “Movies 101” menu will include, of course, “Up” and “Sugar,” the baseball-themed film opening at AMC’s River Park Square Theatres. Mary Pat Treuthart, stand-in cohost Leonard Oakland and I will add a movie on DVD as a third.
I’ll have to go see “Drag Me to Hell” all on my own. Maybe I’ll take my brother.
