Congresswoman disappoints

The Spokesman-Review

After writing to Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, I received a response that was inadequate. My note inquired as to what she was doing to support health care for uninsured people in Eastern Washington. Her response was a complete rejection of the Affordable Health Care for America Act based on instilling fears in our seniors and false implications dealing with pro-life issues. Her solution to the deceptively coined “governmental take over” is to “rein in lawsuits,” increase competition across state lines and improve the efficiency of information technology – ideal solutions for the health insurance and pharmaceutical industries and mostly inferior solutions for consumers.

She then discussed her own health care insurance plan, which is considered one of the best in the land. How many Eastern Washingtonians wish they had the same health care for themselves and their families? Health care reform is an issue between greedy corporations, “economic haves” and the “have-nots.”

America is not a Third World country, and every man, woman and child can and should have the right to appropriate health care. Cathy McMorris Rodgers’ support in this regard would be truly noble.
