Time right for school project

The Spokesman-Review

I encourage all citizens of the Cheney School District to vote yes to support the Feb. 9 Cheney School District bond.

Funds will be used to replace the current middle school, build a new middle school and build a new elementary school. Currently, Cheney Middle School is critically overcrowded. Growth rate predictions show this problem only getting worse.

These tough economic times actually make this a great time to build, due to lower labor and materials costs. And this project will also bring jobs to our local economy.

Approval of the bond will not increase your tax rate. Equally important is that passing this bond will bring additional funds from the state that we otherwise would not receive.

More information can be found at YesForOurKids.org or by picking up a blue information sheet at any Cheney school.

Ballots for this election will be sent to your home in January. Please join me and the Committee for the Support of Good Schools in voting yes by Feb. 9 for this important issue in the Cheney School District.
