Wild Card/Sunday

We’re approaching what Garrison Keillor calls the second giant step toward winter this week: Thanksgiving. I’m sure there’ll be a thread or two re: things we are thankful for. Also, some resorts are open for skiers and snowboarders. Then, there’s Black Friday the day after Turkey Day, when many merchants and economists will have their fingers crossed hoping for a decent upswing in sales. Finally, we’ll gather on Sherman Avenue to watch the annual holiday parade, troop a few feet away to sing Christmas carols and ohh and ahh when Hagadone Hospitality lights its giant Christmas tree, and then crowd into the Coeur d’Alene Resort for the Festival of Trees.
