Alternative to mammograms

The Spokesman-Review

Ask any woman if she would choose an alternative to mammograms that only involved taking a blood sample and my bet is there would be an overwhelming “Yes!”

Ask any man if he would choose an alternative to having his testicles put in a vise every year and my bet is there would be an overwhelming “Yes!”

Ask anyone if they would choose a blood test over a colonoscopy and my bet is there would be an overwhelming “Yes!”

There is such a test. It is called the AMAS test, which stands for anti-malignin antibody in serum. It detects cancer antibodies in the blood. Simple and highly accurate. If it is positive, then more uncomfortable means of detecting cancer can be undergone. If it is negative, and there are no symptoms of any problems, then the test can be repeated annually.

One of the issues that has been brought up is the possibility of false negative results on the AMAS test. Personally, I would rather get a false negative than a false positive and have to submit to further testing for no reason.

Check it out, ladies!
