Thefts ruin experience

The Spokesman-Review

Just recently, a buddy of mine and I returned from a deployment to Kabul, Afghanistan. Another friend came home after serving in Iraq. When we came home, we just wanted to get back to our lives. The three of us were roommates; we shared rent on a house to save money. Unfortunately, that house was located in Spokane.

While we were deployed, the house was broken into and many items taken away from us. We picked ourselves up and moved on. But then it happened again, this time while we were at Fairchild doing our jobs. Some of the items stolen were material possessions, and some were much more. These persons had the audacity to steal items from us that we have earned in the war zone.

We came home only to be with our friends and loved ones; we just wanted to be left alone. Soon I will leave the Air Force and try my best to transition into civilian life, but I will always remember what the city of Spokane has stolen from me.
