I’ll pass on ‘Armored’
I’ve been watching the trailer for “Armored,” the heist film that’s supposed to open on Friday, for months now. And to tell you the truth, I’m no more exctied about this movie than I was when I first saw Matt Dillon and Co. preview their product.
Can’t say exactly what it is. Could be the cast (Dillon, Laurence Fishburne, Jean Reno, Skeet Ulrich and Columbus Short). Could be the tired story line (an inside job goes horribly wrong). Could be the images (everything looks so dark). Maybe it’s the first name of the director (Nimrod, as in Nimrod Antal , whose previous film was the crappy “Vacancy”). Hard to say.
But I think I’m gonna give the film a pass. Hell, I’d be more interested in seeing “Twilight: New Moon.” I’m serious.
One thing I do think I’ll take in is the director’s cut of “Blade Runner,” which will be playing at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Magic Lantern . Marvin Smith, a professor of Electronic Media and Film at Eastern Washington University, will i ntroduce the film and lead the discussion.
Should be interesting.
