Tea parties were riot-free

The Spokesman-Review

During the “tea party” protest in Washington, D.C., and across the country, we were called un-American, racist, rednecks, etc. Yet, unlike the protesters in Pittsburgh protesting the G-20 summit, the WTO protesters in Seattle, and the Rodney King protesters, no one rioted, looted, set fires, destroyed public and private property, assaulted law enforcement officers, etc.

Yet liberals led by the likes of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid hail the WTO, Rodney King and G-20 protesters as heroes. They are angry, they are lashing out, they want to be heard.

Yet people who peacefully protest like the “tea party” people do, we are un-American? Un-American, huh? I have two honorable discharges from the U.S. Army and one from the Virginia National Guard. And Pelosi, Reid, Obama and Steny Hoyer don’t have one military discharge between them.
