Goodlander earns re-election

The Spokesman-Review

Deanna Goodlander deserves re-election to the Coeur d’Alene City Council as an outstanding environment leader. Goodlander’s strong support of our effort to keep Sanders Beach opened to the public, to placing limitations on high-rise buildings downtown and voting against commercialization of Tubbs Hill demonstrate her environmental commitments.

At the same time, Goodlander has been a staunch advocate for good public development such as the new, beautiful, downtown library, the Kroc Center and the Education Corridor.

There are some negative people in this community, who, through gross misrepresentations, have tried to create citizen hostility to the positive achievements made by the city. These few, some of whom seek public office, are a selfish clique of people against virtually everything.

With public interest always in her forefront, Goodlander has shown that she can be both a positive force for a good public improvement while also backing an administrative shield against those special interests who would try to make some of our unique treasures such as McEuen Field into a privately named area that would greatly diminish public use.

Deanna Goodlander deserves the vote of every resident who wants both progress and permanent protection of public property.
