Tax fighter earns vote

The Spokesman-Review

In 1998 I was thrilled that Initiative 695 passed and I didn’t have to borrow money to pay my license tab tax. The tax was originally supposed to just go to highway maintenance but was soon diverted into many different state bureaucracies.

Mike Fagan was a major part of the behind-the-scenes effort to overturn this killer tax, which was hurting the working poor.

In order to even stay in the game, one needs a dependable car to get to work, and the motor vehicle excise tax was like a 13th car payment each year. Mike Fagan’s successful effort to get rid of this killer tax is just one example of his tireless efforts over the years to champion the little guy in his district. That is because Mike doesn’t live in an ivory tower and understands how difficult it is becoming for people to make ends meet with low-paying jobs and fixed incomes.

Please vote for Mike Fagan to bring his energetic enthusiasm and many years of selfless experience to the Spokane City Council.
