Winter Bites Green Bluff Orchards
Depending on who you ask the cold snap that has hit the Inland Northwest has either had great
or little impact on the orchards in Greenbluff where the apple festival is in full swing. It comes down to who you talk to. Some farmers say their apples are still good. Other farmers said that the apples that are still on the trees got hit by the cold. At Hidden Acres Farm Karene Simchuk says her apples appear to be just fine. “Our fruit fared very well,” she said. “We did a test-cutting this morning and were very happy to find that the apples sustained minimal damage.” Not every orchard was so lucky.
