MGR Vs. Adam: Rainy Day Fund

MountainGoat Report: No matter that the state has already extracted its pound of flesh from the most disadvantaged among us—mental health facilities closing their doors , more single mothers living in poverty , programs for the elderly being cut , to name a few —all while keeping $200 million in reserve funds, now there’s talk that Medicaid programs for the poor and disabled may face additional cuts of as much as 23 percent and the possibility remains that whole state programs could disappear. Adam’s Blog: As to the state’s rainy day funds, while I favor tapping them judiciously to ease the pain of some spending cuts, let’s be clear. The secret of the rainy days funds is once they are spent, they are gone. And while the left have taken a big sip of the Obama kool aid, I don’t think the storm’s ending any time soon. More here .
