Post Falls URD Refunds $2.2M
Item: URD gives back $2.2M: Taxing entities awarded surplus funds from Post Falls district /Brian Walker, Coeur d’Alene Press
More Info:
It’s a first in urban renewal history in Idaho. Despite the East Post Falls Urban Renewal District being open through 2015, seven taxing districts have been given a total rebate of $2.2 million from surplus revenue accumulated in the district to assist agencies during tough economic times. “As far as we can see in talking to a number of urban renewal agencies around the state, this is the first time an agency has rebated surplus increment revenue back to the taxing entities,” said Tom Lien, Post Falls Urban Renewal Agency executive director. “It’s historic,” added Bobbi Rollins, URA chairwoman.
Question: What do you make of this development in Post Falls?
