Allen understands reality

The Spokesman-Review

To maintain Spokane’s quality of life, we must achieve both economic and environmental goals. City Councilman Mike Allen understands this.

However, while tactics of Mike’s opponent seem to have shifted to discussing economic issues in his latest handout, in two candidate forums I attended and on his Web site, most of his experience and emphasis relate to recreation, environment and his media background. He has failed to stress that if we do not focus enough on sound economic policies and making sure that taxpayers are getting value for our tax dollars, our quality of life will suffer and we will not be able to afford necessary and desirable city services.

At www.votemikeallen.com, Mike discusses issues including job promotion, wise use of tax revenue and maintaining critical city services, and he knows they all affect our quality of life. He emphasizes that economic goals must also be a priority, not just an occasional mention. With Mike’s background in finance and business, his experience dealing with complex budgets at Eastern Washington University, plus his two years on the council, Mike has the expertise we need.

In Council District 2, change would be a mistake. Vote for Mike Allen and keep him working for us.
