Tenants, beware of I-1033

The Spokesman-Review

Anyone who rents their apartment or home should be especially concerned if Initiative 1033 passes. While renters do not pay property tax, I-1033 dictates that the sales taxes they pay on everyday items may go to pay down their landlord’s property tax bill.

Just think, renters may get to pay down the property taxes on apartment buildings and luxury vacation homes that other people own if I-1033 passes. I would like to ask all renters if they think for one second that their landlord will pass on to them any big tax rebate he receives from I-1033.

Vote no on I-1033.
