Day 2 Bart: In the midnight hour

Bart Mihailovich

Going into this thing, I always knew it would be my schedule that would prove to be most difficult, and today (or yesterday now) proved to be no exception.  I don’t have photos, or any funny antecdotes, just a bland list of meals.
For breakfast I had fried eggs from a family in Colbert, a glass of Spokane Family Farm Milk, and an apple from Greenbluff.  At lunch I battled through my leftovers from the night before, which were drier and less tasteful than the original, proving once again that sequels usually fail.  I snacked on a hardboiled egg and a peach during the day.  And this is where it gets crazy.

I left work at 4:30 for a meeting downtown at 5.  On the way I found out I needed to bring my brother’s girlfriend to the airport at 7, while trying to squeeze time in between to run a quick errand - leaving no time for dinner prep, all the while, lamenting my hunger pangs.  Oh and I have two guests staying with me this week too.  So I made it home to meet my brother’s girlfriend, and another friend who stopped up, and my guests, and of course my fiance, and a bountiful spread of barbecue fixings and laughter.  So while they feasted, I was able to chew through a dry burger patty smothered with tomatoes, green beans from my garden, and just when I was to start on an ear of corn I had to leave to get my brother’s girlfriend to the airport.  Say what you will, but I operate at too fast of a pace for this competition.

Regardless, I’m still in it, my complaints are likely falling on deft ears, and tomorrow (or today) is a new day.
