Candidate Filing Deadline @ 5 PM

City Clerk Susan Weathers of Coeur d’Alene told Huckleberries Online a minute ago that no one filed candidacy papers today for the fall mayor and council elections. That means incumbent Sandi Bloem will face Joe Kunka in an attempt to become the first Lake City mayor to win three, four-year terms. In the council races, incumbent Mike Kennedy is matched against Jim Brannon; incumbent Deanna Goodlander will face Dan Gookin; and incumbent Woody McEvers will run against challenger Steve Adams.

• In Post Falls , incumbent Clay Larkin will face Steven DeGon and Mathew Behringer in the mayor’s race; incumbent Ron Jacobson and Keith Hutcheson will vie for Seat No. 2; incumbent Joe Bodman and Betty Henderson for Seat No. 4; and incumbent Linda Wilhelm and Bob Flowers for Seat No. 6.
• In Hayden , Richard Panabaker, George Schultze, and Keith Knight will run for Seat No. 2 now held by Councilman Anson Gable; and incumbent Geri DeLange will seek re-election against Jana Regnere.
