Daily mail not necessary

The Spokesman-Review

The Postal Service is deep in the red. A partial solution may be to cut more than just Saturday home delivery. We don’t really need mail every day. Monday-Wednesday-Friday is enough.

This came to my attention recently as 37th Avenue has been mostly closed since early July due to major road construction. Mail has been delivered to my street two or three days a week at best, as the branch manager of the Post Office says it’s too risky for his people to deliver on 37th Avenue. Quite an eye opener.

Now I realize that no mail is so important that one day delay matters. Unwanted catalogs? I have canceled six and more such requests will follow as copies arrive.
