Make way for government

The Spokesman-Review

I heard the sweet, syrupy and venomous words Obama said to Congress and the nation. Regarding the insurance industry, Obama wants to: dictate who will be their customer; limit how much insurance companies can charge customers; dictate that insurance payouts be unlimited; then use any profits left over to help fund the Obama health care system.

In other words, Obama will take over and destroy the health insurance industry, leaving only – you guessed it – government-run health care.

Regarding the American citizen, Obama will dictate that we all have health care. Of course it will be the government who decides the level of coverage you need. How will Obama enforce this requirement? Possibly a couple lines added to our tax forms like, “How much did you pay in health insurance premiums?” or “Who provides your health insurance?”

One important item Obama didn’t explain is how big the bureaucracy needs to be to control (destroy) the health insurance industry and enforce the mandatory citizen health insurance requirement? I don’t remember who said this but it will be “a government with the compassion of the IRS, the productivity of the Post Office and the efficiency of Katrina,” that’s who.
