KREM lost respect
It was a shock to read in the Saturday Spokesman that longtime KREM news anchor Nadine Woodward had been fired. Not only did management fail to bargain with her in good faith, but also exercised a six-month “non-compete” contractual clause that keeps her from working in a similar venue.
Her firing is outrageous. The prohibition from working in her profession, along with lack of severance pay is callous and cruel. We will miss this outstanding newswoman and trust that we will see her soon in another situation. Meanwhile, our respect for KREM management and BELO has evaporated.
