• Washington State: Did we say a lot of WSU news yesterday? Well, I guess that would be what we call in the newspaper business “underselling” the story. OK, no one calls it that. But it is something of an understatement. So let’s quit jabbering and get to it. … We had our story about the quarterback changes in today’s S-R, and a post that examined the day’s events in a little more detail. … Freelancer Howie Stalwick covered the news in the Kitsap Sun and other papers. … The Times’ Bud Withers had this column . … Associated Press covered the story as well. … Cougfan summarized Paul Wulff’s conference call (you can listen to the whole thing here if you want to give up 20 minutes of your life listening to a bunch of old guys talk) and the WSU football blog gives you a synopsis of Wulff’s radio show. … SMU quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell sat out practice Tuesday. … Had enough? Well, we’ve got a couple other things to share. Forgot to post this last night, but it looks like WSU might be playing at night in Oregon. With the USC game now set for 7:15 , that means WSU will probably play two games in a row at night. … Finally, former Cougar grad assistant Kevin Sumlin’s team, the Houston Cougars, pulled off a big upset last week. Washington State gets some mention in this story .
