The North Idaho Unitarian Universalist Church will feature an appearance of all of the candidates running for Coeur d’Alene Mayor and City Council this year. The program will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 27, in the Harding Family Gym on 15th and Wallace in Coeur d’Alene . The eight candidates will each make introductory remarks followed by questions from the audience, and a short time for closing statements. Former State Senator Mary Lou Reed will be the moderator.

This will be the initial public forum since the filing date closed and will give the public their first chance to ask questions of the candidates and hear their comments on the issues facing the community. This presentation is open to the public and anyone interested in hearing the candidate’s position is welcome to attend.

The eight candidates who will be attending are: Mayor Sandi Bloom and Joseph Kunka in the mayor’s race; Mike Kennedy and James Brannon for Seat # 2; Deanna Goodlander and Dan Gookin for Seat #6, and Woody McEvers will be facing Steve Adams for Seat #4.

Each candidate will have a two minute introduction time, and a one minute closing statement. Questions from the audience must take no more than one minute to ask the question, and it can be addressed to everyone, or to just one individual and the opponent of that candidate. The time limits will be rigorously enforced in order to give each candidate and questioner equal time.

The candidates have all been informed they may bring some materials concerning their campaign, and the material will be on tables along the wall.

The Discussion Group is open to the public, and coffee and child care are provided.
