Question: I once asked a prominent Coeur d’Alene Indian Tribe member what he thought re: the battle to remove Indian mascots from schools and sports teams. He replied: “That’s an urban Indian thing. I’m too busy working on my reservation to worry about things like that.” What do you think? Are there some Indian mascot names more offensive than others, like Washington Redskins? Should they all be removed? Should they all be left alone?
