Buzz on Main Street

Grace Chiquette

Saturday, April 17, 2010 was much to do about awareness and participation. I really like the location this year, on Main Street , instead of at Riverfront Park. The street closure gave this years Earth Day ~Spokane~ Celebration a better feel, more activity in a defined space…provided a good buzz to the environment.  You could feel the sense of action and determination. The crowd was diverse and seemed to be enjoying the activities and information/vendor booths.  I was at the Spokesman Review Booth…meeting people and talking with them about DownToEarthNW.com.  I must admit, I was a little surprised…at just how many people did not know that we have GREEN JOURNALISM …right here for them in Spokane!

10 great things about GREEN JOURNALISM:

10. Its GREEN and not any other color.

9. It’s in Spokane, so the news is worthy to you based upon proximity.

8 .  It’s EASTSIDE of the STATE news and Not WESTSIDE of the STATE news.

7 .  Its nitch…which means the content is delivered “just the way you like it, in accordance with just what you like.”

6. Its not too-big, it’s not too-small…..It’s just the right size!

5 .  it’s all about Health. Wealth and Happiness for everyone.

4. This year, YOUR GREEN Journalism is sponsoring the upcoming spokefeast.  I’m definitely going to be self-powering the peddles , however I refuse to wear the bright colored tight clothes and will limit my ride to 10 miles or under, obviously I  like the number 10…you’re reading the top 10 List!

3 .  GREEN Journalism provides an outlet for positive, inspirational points of view on all the eco-friendly activities going on in your area and neighborhood.

2. GREEN Journalism helps support and promotes initiatives and programs to help change our community into a healthier more sustainable place to live, work and play.

1. GREEN JOURNALISM has really cool GREEN BLOGGERS. If we had a chance to meet you on Saturday, AWESOME, Thank you for coming out to Main Street!  If we didn’t, we hope to see you next year at EARTH DAY ~Spokane and we hope you will begin reading and particating in our blogs on a weekly or monthly basis.
