DFO: Getting A Jury Duty Pass

I don’t mind getting called for jury duty. But I do mind serving on a jury, at least at this point in my life, when I’m so busy. That’s why I was delighted over the weekend when I checked in with the recording to Bailiff Peter Barnes’ photo and learned that my panel had been dismissed for the next two weeks. And that I wouldn’t be called again for jury duty for two years. In fact, I raised my arms in the air as though I were a football official signaling a touchdown. Does this kind of reaction make me a bad person? I wouldn’t mind serving on jury duty, once I retire. In fact, I’ll have all the time in the world to do just that.
