More hands on the shovel
The April 8 article “Credits pay off for many taxpayers” indicates that 47 percent of taxpayers will pay no federal income tax. This while the federal government runs a yearly $1.6 trillion budgetary deficit and an accumulated federal debt exceeding $13 trillion.
As a people we do not want our taxes raised to fully pay for federal governmental programs and services nor do we want these same programs cut. Within the next eight years, the federal government will add another $10 trillion to the federal debt.
We have transferred 70 percent of our manufacturing operations to other countries. We have to buy our shoes, clothing, appliances, electronics and most of our cars from foreign countries.
So, we cannot feed, clothe, manufacture various essential products, or produce oil for ourselves. We live on debt supplied by our enemies. We consistently re-elect the same politicians that got us into this mess in the first place. Is this what we have become as a people?
We dug ourselves into this hole. Do we have the intestinal courage to dig ourselves out?
