Ex-Chiefs assistant loses job

Dave Trimmer

Edmonton Oil Kings head coach Steve Pleau, a former assistant coach with the Spokane Chiefs (2006-07), was fired Tuesday along with assistant coach Rocky Thompson. Pleau was 67-116-12-21 in three seasons, with one playoff appearance. This year’s record was 16-43-4-9

Among the early names mentioned are former Everett coach Kevin Constantine, who was fired from his AHL job, and Ken Hitchcock, who was fired from his NHL job.

As usual, you can find more on Gregg Drinnan’s blog.

The Bantam Draft is a week from Thursday and the Chiefs pick 17th. If my information is correct the Chiefs don’t have a second-round pick and have three picks in the sixth round. The Chiefs have created a You-Tube channel.
