Roseburg shuts out Wausau

The Roseburg ( Ore. ) Docs jumped on the Wausau ( Wis. ) Bulldogs early and never let up Thursday afternoon, cruising to a 14-0 victory in a run-rule shortened game at the Northwest Regional American Legion baseball tournament.

Roseburg chased Wausau starting pitcher John Roberts after just four hitters, and reliever Austin Priebe allowed a grand slam to the first batter he faced, Josh Graham. Before the Docs knew what hit them they trailed 6-0 after one inning at Gonzaga University ’s Washington Trust Field.

Graham finished with six RBI. Pitcher Brandon Jackson (9-1) went the distance, scattering seven hits in 66 pitches.

Roseburg (29-13) will meet the Boise Gems (29-12) at 4:30 on Friday. Boise thumped Dimond of Anchorage 18-3.

Wausau (30-18) meets the Missoula Mavericks (64-10) at 9:30 a.m.
