Stop the calls

Forget the do-not-call list – politicians seem to be exempt.

We stopped counting the number of irritating calls we have received over the past few weeks by politicians and supporters of politicians from both sides of the fence (the drawback of a two-party household). Do these political robo-calls really work? What does that say about our society if all it takes is an auto-dialer message to push our subconscious over the voting line?

Fortunately we have caller ID and we can choose not to answer. If I thought I would get a live person on the other end, I might answer just to let them know how that call just ended any hope they had of getting my vote.

Thanks to the S-R for publishing the Election 2010 Special, which is the only tangible information available at our fingertips to evaluate the candidates.
