Mixed messages

The Bush administration was fond of sending messages abroad with various calculated actions. We may also be sending unintended messages abroad to our friends and enemies. An example is the orchestrated opposition to the proposed Islamic community center or mosque near ground zero. Newt Gingrich and other Republican hacks are leading this opposition. What message is this sending to Muslims?

We have invaded and occupied two Muslim countries to bring freedom to our Muslim friends and to help them manage their resources. Do we want our message to be one of hate and intolerance by Americans to Muslims? How many Americans want a religious war?

What about the other messages are we sending the Muslim world with our religious intolerance, sodomite marriages and Lindsay Lohan? Why would Muslims want to be like Americans anyway?

Osama bin Laden must be enjoying this controversy. What a wonderful recruiting tool Newt Gingrich is offering the terrorists. Newt wants to stop the mosque and restore the golden days of the Bush administration. Remember the wars, economic collapse and the looting of the Treasury by tax cuts under President Bush? Maybe Newt Gingrich and the other anarchists should either love America or leave it.
