What a day it was in West Coast college athletics yesterday. Not a lot of it directly concerned Washington State, but, because there are always ripples when a boulder hits a pond, the Mountain West vs. Western Athletic conference spat might just have some effect around the Inland Northwest soon. • Washington State: Though we weren’t there, it was hot in Pullman yesterday. So hot, in fact, coach Paul Wulff turned on the sprinklers . Well, not really. The slip-n-slide. And the big guys had a great time . So how many of you had a slip-n-slide as a kid? Favorite memory? I’ll share mine here when I get back to Pullman. … The watery fun wasn’t the only thing that turned down the heat yesterday.
