Jones runs wild as Eagles advance

Taiwan Jones rshed for 168 yards and two touchdowns and Bo Levi Mitchell threw for 178 yards and two more scores at Roos Field Saturday aftenoon as No. 1-ranked and 5th-seeded Eastern Washington University turned back visiting Southeast Missouri State 37-17 in the second round of the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs.

The win moved EWU in the quarterfinals of the playoffs and set up another home game against North Dakota — a 42-17 winner over 4th-seeded Montana State — next Friday or Saturday.
