Combat effectiveness in retreat

After reading Joan E. Harman’s latest attack letter (Dec. 15), endorsing gays in the military, and then watching the Democrats repeal “don’t ask, don’t tell,” I was reminded of that ’60s movie “Ship of Fools.”

The issue of homosexuals in our armed forces has never been about hatred or bigotry; it’s about combat effectiveness.

It’s beyond commendable that the Marine Corps has continued to speak out against having gays in the military. The commandant of the Marine Corps has offered his objections and, awhile back, another Marine general gave the same opinion and also said, correctly, that homosexuality is “immoral.”

Tony Perkins, president of Family Research Council, asserted, again correctly, that gays are forcing their “radical social agenda” on the military.

It was predictable that the vile Democratic Party, which has nothing but contempt for the military, has once again caved in to political correctness and ignored combat readiness.
