Government excess no gift

The “Christmas” holiday signifies many different things to many different people.

It is the great gift of American citizenship that allows us the freedom to choose what we celebrate. Our Founding Fathers penned the Constitution in order to protect those and many other freedoms.

Unfortunately, over the past several decades, the American people have surrendered, to the government, their control over many of the freedoms protected in that document. The authors of our Constitution intended on the people running the country with the government as representatives of the people. Today, far too many citizens are expecting the government to provide for and take care of them.

What I hope for on Christmas, and every other day, is that the American people will regain the control of this country and set the example for future generations that the same opportunities are available to all citizens who are willing to work for them. We live in the greatest country on earth! Let’s keep it that way!
