Verlin reprimanded by WAC

After making critical comments on the officiating of Wednesday’s loss to Nevada, Idaho coach Don Verlin has been reprimanded for violating the WAC’s sportsmanship code. Said commissioner Karl Benson, “Coach Verlin’s comments criticizing the officials clearly violated the WAC sportsmanship code and will not be tolerated. Any further violations of the code will result in a minimum one-game suspension.”

Verlin apologized for his rant, during which he said it was a “poorly officiated game.”

Also, Verlin acknowledged to the Lewiston Tribune yesterday that freshman Corey Stern will transfer.
