Vandals pull away from Fresno State
For whatever reason, the Idaho Vandals have performed better on the road than at home this season — particularly in WAC play. On Saturday night, UI handled Fresno State 68-59 to sweep the season series from the Bulldogs. FSU was coming off an impressive 19-point thumping of then co-league leader New Mexico State. Mac Hopson had 20 points, eight rebounds and six assists while Luciano de Souza had 16 of Idaho’s 29 bench points.
Idaho (12-12, 4-8) sits comfortably in seventh place in the WAC, meaning it most likely won’t be in danger of missing the conference tournament. In fact, with four WAC games remaining, Idaho could jump San Jose State (12-12, 5-7) for the sixth seed.
