Hope, change still wanted

The Spokesman-Review

Well, Sister Sarah is at it again. I watched the Facebook/Twitter darling give her speech to the Tea Party folks.

It’s a good thing I wasn’t eating anything when she came up with that line about “hopey-changey thing working out” for us.

I was reminded of Archie Bunker’s comments to Lionel on the subject of smart alecks in “All in the Family.” He said something to the effect that nobody likes a smart aleck, black or white. Only he didn’t use the word “aleck.”

God forbid that we should have a president who has a desire to bring about health care reform. God forbid that he should make an effort to hear all points of view trying to achieve that goal.

Well it’s safe to take potshots from the peanut gallery, but if she really wants to be taken seriously she’s going to have to come up with serious ideas.

As our president has stated, if this stuff was easy it would have been achieved long ago. I’m proud of a president who believes in hope and change no matter how difficult these things are to translate into meaningful legislation.
